MAY

Awareness Raising Campaign

Our awareness raising campaign was strengthened by our second year students' disability-related posters, which we displayed at our departmental clinic for parents and members of the community. The posters were under the themes of:

  • Inclusive Education
  • Community Participation
  • The Rights-Based Approach
  • Advocacy

The aim was to provide a holistic view of people with disabilities and to encourage rights- based approach to inclusion of persons with disabilities into all spheres of life, including education, politics, sports and leisure. We also noted the importance and social responsibility we all share to use appropriate terminology with regard to 'disability'.
