‘Mahajana - Suwadhana’ International Healthcare Exhibition - 2017
The final year (Batch 05) students of the BSc (Hons) Speech and Hearing Sciences, specializing in Speech and Language Therapy together with the academic staff of the Department of Disability Studies, participated at the Health+ Wealth, International Healthcare Exhibition from 14th to 16th July 2017 at the BMICH, Colombo.
The Ceylon College of Physicians together with the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka and the Ministry of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine organized the exhibition to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Ceylon College of Physicians, the oldest professional body of consultant physicians in Sri Lanka.
The students and the staff of the Department of Disability Studies were invited to participate at the monumental event by the National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka and the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists. The role of speech and language therapists in stroke management was the key area addressed by the team from the Department of Disability Studies.
