The department aims to uphold the faculty’s aspiration of being an internationally recognized institution of higher education in a culture of excellence and integrity that helps to generate and impart knowledge in speech and language therapy and audiology.


  • Educate undergraduate speech and hearing science students, allied health care professionals, educators and the public
  • Provide patient oriented care in the early identification, prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of congenital and acquired speech, language, communication and hearing related impairments.
  • Conduct basic, applied and clinical research in the areas of speech, language, swallowing, communication hearing and disability
