Workshop on Inclusive education for children with Cerebral Palsy

The Department of Disability Studies, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya organized a workshop on “Inclusive Education for Children with Cerebral Palsy” for speech and language therapy students, international school teachers, government school teachers and parents on 11th of October 2019 from 2.00 to 4.00 pm at Ayati Center. The workshop focused on pathology of cerebral palsy, peer relationships in school, classroom accommodations for children with cerebral palsy and parent accounts of living with children with cerebral palsy. The resource persons were Prof. Samanmali Sumanasena (Consultant paediatrician), Dr Manurie Chandraratne (paediatrician), Dr Gayan Sampath (senior registrar), Ms. Hasna (psychologist), Ms Thimali (student with cerebral palsy from UoK) and two parents of children with cerebral palsy.
