Faculty of Medicine of University of Kelaniya is situated on a spacious 35 acre campus at Ragama, Sri Lanka. The faculty is easily accessible via road and rail is within 14.7 miles of Bandaranaike International Airport via Colombo - Katunayake Expy/E03.

By Rail

The nearest train station to medical faculty is Ragama Railway Station, situated around 0.59 miles away from the faculty. Ragama is on the little north-east of Colombo, the country's capital town, with regular rail services to destinations throughout the Sri Lanka.

You can get down from Ragama railway-station and get a bus (route number 262/1) towards faculty under flyover near hospital or you can get a taxi to the faculty. Taxis are available at the station.

This is bus information starting from Colombo, the country's capital town.

Take the bus route number 262 (Ragama-Petteh) and get down from Ragama town. From Ragama onwards you can get the bus route number 262/1 (Dambuwa-Ragama) & get down from "Campus Halt".

Each year the Faculty offers a small number of places on our MBBS degree programme, for students with foreign qualifications.

Such places are on a self-financing basis, and subject to admission criteria and tuition fees stipulated by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.

Overseas medical students who wish to undertake elective appointments are welcome to engage in hospital based clinical work in order to get acquainted with common medical problems encountered in this part of the world. Sri Lanka being a South Asian tropical island , is susceptible to some unique medical problems that overseas students may not be exposed to in their medical career.
