CLINICAL SERVICES

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT (SE) CLINIC

This clinic acts as an information hub. It offers key and accessible information to persons with disabilities or from disadvantaged backgrounds on Supported Employment. It offers links with Supported Employment Officers (SEOs) working in the community, colleagues at the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon and with organizations offering supported employment in the open market. In collaboration with the speech and language therapy service and through speech and language therapists and students working under the supervision of a clinician, it offers individual and group therapy on developing communication skills for accessing employment and for accessing employment-related training courses. The clinic also undertakes onward referrals to the Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Educational Therapy services to support the development of independence skills and literacy skills that may be required as pre- requisite skills to access employment.
