Music Program by Cultural Centre, Faculty of Medicine
A musical program was conducted by the cultural center of the Faculty of Medicine for the new medical students of the 37th MBBS batch on the 16th of October 2025 from 1.00 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. in the Visthara Hall in the faculty. This was conducted in parallel to the orientation program, and the participants included the Dean of the Faculty, Senior Professor Madhawa Chandrathilake, the coordinator of the orientation program and the cultural center, Dr. Thusitha Wickramasinghe, and the officer-in-charge of the cultural center, Mr. Kodithuwakku.
A valuable lecture on the importance of medical students’ inclination towards arts and aesthetic studies, and live singing and instrumental performances were included in this program.
Renowned lecturer in literature, Mr. Sisira Kumara Mahagama conducted the program, with the support of external artists for singing and playing instruments.
