Medical students become the first runner-up in CPR Competition
Medical students from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Kelaniya have emerged as the first runner-up in the inaugural CPR Competition organized by the Resuscitation Council of the College of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka (COAISL). The competition, held on October 16, 2023, coincided with World Restart a Heart Day, an international initiative to raise awareness about cardiac arrest and the importance of bystander CPR and defibrillation in saving lives.
The Faculty of Medicine team, comprising U. Selvaratnam, A.A.D.G. Adikari, D.M.S.R. Jayawardana, and K.A.S.V. Somanayaka, showcased their skills and knowledge, competing against medical faculties from across Sri Lanka.
Their success is attributed to the invaluable mentorship and coaching provided by Dr. Harith Wickremasekera, Dr. Bhagya Gunatilleke, Dr. Harith Dharmakeerthi, and Dr. Vishaka Kerner.
Congratulations to the team and their mentors for their outstanding achievement!
