Prof Shamila de Silva delivers Prof. P.B. Fernando Memorial Oration 2023

Prof Shamila de Silva, Professor in the Department of Medicine, delivered the prestigious Prof P.B. Fernando Memorial Oration 2023 at the recently held 56th Anniversary Annual Academic Sessions of the Ceylon College of Physicians. The topic of her oration was “Navigating the pandemic of a lifetime – COVID-19 morbidity, morality, and vaccination through the eyes of a physician”.

Prof de Silva's oration was a comprehensive and insightful look at the COVID-19 pandemic, from its origins and spread to its impact on morbidity, mortality, and vaccination. She drew on her experience as a physician to provide valuable insights into the challenges and successes of the pandemic response.
