Lumière 2026

Lumière  2026, the annual Speech Camp organized by the students of MBBS Batch 37, Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS) Batch 18, and Occupational Therapy (OT) Batch 5 of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, was held successfully on 24th April 2026 at  Vistaara as the concluding event of their English Intensive Course.

The event served as a celebration of the students’ achievements and progress in English language learning while also providing a platform to showcase their creativity, confidence, and communication skills. The programme featured a variety of performances including songs, dances, drama, speeches, and other entertaining activities organized and performed by the students.

The occasion was graced by the Chief Guest, Chair Professor of the Department of Anatomy, Prof. Aranjan Karunanayake, and the Head of the Department of Medical Education, Dr. Pavithra Godammunne, together with other members of the academic staff, visiting lecturers and invited guests. Their presence added significance to the event and encouraged the students in their accomplishments.

As the final event of the English Intensive Course, Lumière 2026 reflected the students’ dedication, teamwork, and growth throughout the programme. Beyond entertainment, the event emphasized the importance of effective communication, confidence-building, creativity, and interpersonal skills among future healthcare professionals.
