The Kelaniya University Faculty of Medicine Teachers’ Association (KUFMTA) successfully organized the Annual Health Check-Up 2025, a comprehensive health-screening initiative designed to promote the well-being of academic, academic support and non-academic staff members of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.

The programme was conducted on 11th and 18th November 2025 and featured a wide range of services, including blood investigations, medical consultations, personalized health advice, and targeted follow-up recommendations. Staff members received screening for key health indicators such as glycaemic status, lipid profile, renal and liver function, and cardiovascular risk factors. Selected individuals were offered abdominal ultrasonography (USS Abdomen) based on their preliminary investigations, which was conducted on 24th November 2025 as recommended by the physicians.

This annual health initiative reflects the Faculty’s sustained commitment to workplace wellness, preventive healthcare, and the principles of SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, enabling staff to take proactive steps in managing their long-term health.

The KUFMTA looks forward to continuing this important service in the years ahead and expresses gratitude to all who participated and supported this initiative.
