KUFMTA felicitates the outgoing Dean and retired academics

The Kelaniya University Faculty of Medicine Teachers' Association (KUFMTA) organised a ceremony to felicitate the outgoing Dean, Prof Janaki Hewavisenthi, and the retired academic staff of the faculty from its inception in 1992. The ceremony was held on 3rd November 2023 at Water's Edge, Battaramulla. The event was graced by over 125 current and retired academics including the Vice Chancellor, University of Kelaniya and Dean, Faculty of Medicine. On behalf of the faculty, Prof Hewavisenthi was felicitated with a plaque, a present and an album of pictures. Tributes to retired academic staff were paid by offering them plaques. It was a great moment of building cohesion and sharing warmth and laughter. The president KUFMTA, Prof Shaluka Jayamanna, and the executive committee were instrumental in organising this grand and memorable event.
