Opening ceremony of “Ayati”; 01^st National Centre for children with disabilities was held on 25^th of January, 2020 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. It was opened by HE President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

The newly opened centre, an initiative of public-private collaboration which is located within the university premises in Ragama was set up to address a burning issue prevailing in the country.

The centre will provide opportunities and hope for children with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential and be fully integrated into the society. The Ayati Centre will provide multidisciplinary care for children with various disabilities.
