Research on Early Intervention

It is well known that therapeutic hypothermia reduces death or disability after neonatal encephalopathy in high-income countries, though its safety and efficacy in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) remain unclear. Researchers from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, contributed to the largest study examining outcomes following therapeutic hypothermia after neonatal encephalopathy in South Asia. This was a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, the Department of Paediatrics, the Department of Disability Studies, and Imperial College London (URL- Imperial College London.
