Young Researchers’ Symposium 2025

The Young Researchers’ Symposium 2025 was held on 15th of August 2025 at Vistaara, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. A full day of research was graced by the Vice Chancellor University of Kelaniya, Senior Professor Nilanthi de Silva, the Dean, Faculty of Medicine Prof. Madawa Chandratilake, staff and students.

Two plenary talks were conducted by members of the alumni, Dr Rohitha Muthugala, Consultant Virologist at the Medical Research Institute and Dr Dunya Luke Consultant Neurologist and Lecturer in Physiology delivered two interesting plenary talks. Senior students and graduates of the MBBS and SHS programs presented their research as oral presentations while students of the MBBS Batch 33 presented their group research projects as posters. .

This event was graced by many academic staff, presenters and students. The oral presentations ensued insightful discussions among the audience. The two highest scoring oral presenters were awarded certificates by the Dean Faculty of Medicine. This event was jointly organised by the Departments of Public Health and Medical Education. .
