A glimpse of aesthetic taste can always awake fresh sentiments. With the aim of showcasing the performance art talents among staff members and students, the event, “Sahurdha Asapuwa” (Brotherly Retreat) was held on the evening of January 12th 2023 at the open air theater of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.

The concert included musical performances by choirs and an orchestra along with dance troupes. In addition to the performances, the event presentations, stage management, stage decorations as well as photography and video recording of the event were all carried out by staff members and students of the faculty. The event was organized by the Cultural Center, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya along with the cooperation of Faculty members.

The chief guest of the event was Senior Prof. S.J. de Hevavisenthe Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. Event was also graced by academic staff, non- academic staff, administrative officers and students of the Faculty of Medicine. Delivering the welcome speech, Dr. Thusitha Wichkaramasinghe, coordinator of the Cultural Center, emphasized the importance of organizing such cultural events to promote inter-personal relationships and the vitality of maintaining mental well-being among academic and non-academic staff members as well as students of the faculty.
