The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya has been invited to join an international academic research consortium named ‘Cognitum’ which comprises of five other centres of excellence:

• Imperial College London, UK
• George Institute for Global Health, Sydney, Australia
• Centre for Chronic Disease Control, New Delhi, India
• Mayosi Research Collaborative, University of Cape Town, South Africa
• Sociedade Beneficente Israelita Brasileira Albert Einstein, Sao Paulo, Brazil

This consortium brings together multiple “best in class” research institutions across the globe to offer academic and multilateral organizations involved in therapeutic advancement the key strengths of its six partner institutions through one global entity.
