• Design and develop new web-based applications

• Maintain and upgrade developed web-based applications as required

• Troubleshoot technical issues in the developed systems

• Create system guidelines and manuals for the developed systems

• Ensure  the smooth backup automation of the developed systems

• Provide training sessions and workshops on system processes

• Retrieve and mining data of developed computer systems on request

• Supervise and guide  programmers in the system development

• Administration of e-Learning Environments (CAL/VLE) of the faculty

• Assist academic staff to deliver e-Learning materials and assist students to resolve technical issues in CAL/VLE

• Provide technical support on develop, maintain and revamp of the faculty main website, departments, units, centers and other web sites.

• Supervise and guide demonstrators for website management

• Represent the faculty in the University Computer Committee/Web Committee

• Coordinate and participate in the 5S implementation and maintaining process of the Computer Centre

Histopathology Reporting System (HRS) 

The department of Pathology provides histopathology services to the Professorial units of Colombo North Teaching Hospital. HRS is a computer assisted medical reporting system which has capabilities to record details about patients and specimens. HRS generates the histopathology reports of clinical specimens that issue to patients. Also, HRS will facilitates data retrieval for research and medical statistics. 

Online Laboratory Reservation System (LRS)

LRS facilitates users to identify available computer labs, auditoriums and tutorial rooms of the faculty and reserve them online.

Students Attendance Management System for MBBS and SHS (SAMS)

SAMS records  student attendance and provides facility to record students’ performance in the class activities. SAMS is instrumental in identifying examination eligibility and contribute to calculating professionalism index at the Faculty. 

Student Information System (SIS) 

SIS is a centralized system which capable of registration students, scheduling examinations, processing marks, issuing results and  generate transcription of medical students.
