Tania Warnakulasuriya obtained her MBBS in 2009 from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. She obtained her MPhil in Physiology with a study on genotoxicity on occupational exposure to radiation, in 2016. She is a Senior lecturer at the Department of Physiology at the faculty of Medicine University of Kelaniya and a visiting lecturer at the University of Wayamba and provides her services to the PGIM at the University of Colombo. She is currently reading for a PHD at the University of Auckland. Her research is focused on cardiorespiratory diseases and metabolic syndrome with a special interest in the autonomic nervous system (ANS). She received a Commonwealth Medical Fellowship to train in ANS assessment in the UK in 2019. She has been instrumental in establishing the autonomic laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and trains physiologists in ANF assessment.
