In addition, 20 academic staff members who accompanied the respective teams were among the audience. The panel of judges comprised of academics from all eight faculties and each quiz round was officiated by a judging panel of three academics at a time. Dr Asoka Dissanayake (former Chair and Professor of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya) officiated as the Quiz Master.

The team from Kelaniya emerged as the champions and claimed the Professor Carlo Fonseka Challenge Trophy while teams from Jaffna and Peradeniya were the first and second runner-ups respectively.

The quiz provided an opportunity for medical students to showcase their knowledge in basic and applied Physiology and also turned out to be an excellent "meeting place" for medical students from all parts of the country.
