Advanced GMA workshop & HINE workshop

Ayati team joining hands with CPLF and AusCP-CTN Team successfully held the international workshop on Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examination (HINE) workshop and the General Movements Assessment (GMA) Advanced B workshop as part of the Infant Developmental Assessment Training from 9th January to 15th January 2024 at Ayati.
The training was facilitated by Prof Andrea Guzzetta, Prof Roslyn Boyd and Mrs. Carly Luke.

Prof. Andrea Guzzetta is a researcher and an associate professor and an investigator on the CRE and a member of the early detection and Neuro imaging theme. Prof. Roslyn Boyd is a scientific director of the Queensland Cerebral palsy and Rehabilitation Research Centre (QCPRRC) and Mrs. Carly Luke is a physiotherapist and PhD Candidate.

This workshop included theoretical overview, focusing on HINE administration, scoring, interpretation and evidence. GMA training dealt with the details of the GMA assessment, the proper terminology and techniques, as well as with the application of individual developmental trajectories. The Advanced Course B provided specific training on detailed scoring of both the Motor Optimality Score (MOS) during the fidgety period and General Movements Optimality Score (GMOS) during the writhing period.

It was a great program and an opportunity and we hope that this might have brought much knowledge to all the Medical doctors, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Speech and Language Therapists all over the island.

We wanted to thank Prof. Samanmali Sumansena, Dr. Dilini Vipulaguna, Ms. Ranmali and the administrative team. A warm thanks to Mr. Gopi Kitnasamy for all the opportunities taken forward. Sincere gratitude to everyone else, who contributed to the event's success.
