Education & Support

Children with reading and writing difficulties undergo a complete educational evaluation at educational therapy unit.

The Learning center at ‘Ayati’ focuses not only on the Academic development but, the emotional, social, and physical development of a child. This is created to emphasize the development of the whole child. The center creates an opportunity for children to explore, examine, experiment and ask questions about the world around them. Children learn through interactive experiences from their environment and the center provides parents with an opportunity to plan, specific subjects through play and engaging activities. Play is considered an active form of learning which involves the cognitive development as well. The main focus is child-initiated exploration and discovery.

Intervention

The learning support center is headed by an Educational psychologist. We offer a multitude of interventions.

The learning center conducts school readiness groups, bi-weekly. The program ensures various play based opportunities to learn new skills, as well as refine existing abilities. The school readiness program supports the skills that your child will require prior to starting school. The learning center focuses on independence skills, the social and emotional self, routines, teaching respect for themselves and others, and academic skills.

The center also provides Individualized Educational Programs (IEP) for appropriate students at Ayati. The multidisciplinary team completes their individual assessments, understands the student’s strengths and needs and develops a comprehensive IEP which offers the provision of appropriate accommodations and services to facilitate the student’s learning.
