Medical graduates who intend to follow a postgraduate training programme are required to enter into a course of their choice conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM) of University of Colombo. Most courses lead to a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Board Certification as a Specialist in a particular discipline.
