In celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, a vibrant Avurudu Pola was held at the Faculty of Medicine premises, organized by the CML patients support society, to raise funds for essential laboratory investigations.
The pola featured 10 lively stalls, offering a variety of goods and festive treats that brought color and energy to the faculty grounds. As a token of appreciation for the use of the premises, the organizers contributed Rs. 1,000 per stall, amounting to Rs. 10,000, which were officially handed over to the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya.
The event not only upheld the spirit of Avurudu but also reflected the values of unity, generosity, and social responsibility. It served as a reminder that celebrations can go hand-in-hand with meaningful causes, creating a win-win for both the community and the organizers.
