The recreational program "හීන පාට කරමු" was conducted on 17th of October 2021 by the medical students of 32nd Batch as a part of the events organized celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya for the World’s Children’s day. The program was mainly focused on adolescent children in Children's Homes in the Western province. The objective of the event was to guide the children to have a healthy lifestyle while motivating them and telling them the importance of having a life goal. At the same time a special session regarding physical fitness and sports also was conducted by a physical instructor. A song and a drama which was created by the 32nd batch added beauty to the event as well. The whole event was successfully concluded with the participation of more than 70 children’s homes and their positive feedback showed the success of the programme.

This event, පුංචි මුවඟට මල් හසරැල් was organized in commemoration of the 30 th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and also to give an opportunity to celebrate children’s day in a memorial way to less privileged children under the age of 12 years. Children from 50 orphanages of the Western province participated in this program. This program had several events such as a health education program which emphasized the importance of having a lifestyle with good hygiene and good health habits, a motivation program which inspired them to develop good skills, a mind game to expand their thinking ability and memorizing ability, drawing event to uplift their creativity, physical education program to make them aware of facing day to day physical obstacle and how to overcome them. Alongside with them, two science related experiments were performed to educate the youngsters by entertaining them and also building a positive attitude towards science and experimental learning. Also, several songs were played to entertain them and gave them a chance to sing along and dance. The children enjoyed the program in a joyful manner.
