Temptation to throw away all unassay things you have accumulated over the time is something we all experience when moving out of the hostel. But now with our RR center open, you can move out and stay green.

“RR center”, the latest project undertaken by the Green Practice Committee and the Students Green Society, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, now allows you to recycle all your reusable jargon without reaching landfills.

RR center was conceptualized based on Reduce, Recycle, Reuse principles. Donating items that you no longer need but are still in usable condition, prevent material reaching landfill before its complete lifecycle and contribute to reducing carbon footprint of the faculty.

This project was generously funded by the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Medicine, UOK to mark the 30th anniversary of the faculty. RR center is located at the hostel premises and will commence its operations from 4th August.

Academic staff, non-academic start and our alumni can also contribute by donating. To find out more about RR center visit GPC (https://medicine.kln.ac.lk/prog/gpc/) website.
