- The Department of Anatomy collected dry rations, garments and essential items worth around Rs. 400000 and transported them by lorry on thursday 06thNovember 2014 to the A.G. office in Haldummulla. These items were disbursed to victims of the recent land sides.

- Dr. Vasitha Abeysuriya, Lecturer, Department of Anatomy has awarded presidential award for Research- 2014 on 31st October 2014.
- Dr. Padmapani Padeniya, Senior Lecturer, Department of Anatomy going to present a research paper titled " Invasive prenatal testing out come in a Tertiary Fetal Medicine referral center in Sri Lanka " at FIGO on 01.11.2014.
- Dr. Lanka Ranaweera, Senior Lecturer, Department of Anatomy has attended as a Co-chairperson for the conference of " The future museum : An Asian perspective" on 28th and 29th October 2014 at the Centre for Asian studies, University of Kelaniya.
- Dr. Lanka Ranaweera, has presented a research paper titled "Scientific considerations for Human skeletal remain for the future museum" at the above mentioned International conference.
- Dr. Shashika Dilshani who is a Research Assistant in the Department of Anatomy presented a poster on the research titled " Accessory muscle in the flexor compartment of the forearm: A case report" in the 15th Annual Research symposium of the University of Kelaniya on 30th October 2014.
- Ms. Chamaine Pathirane, Staff Technical Officer, Department of Anatomy has participated for the Art and Craft exhibition held on 25th and 26th of October 2014 at the Jayawardena centre.

- Dr. Rizvi Hasan, Head Department of Anatomy, has been nominated to the scientific committee of the World Academy of Science and Technology in the field of Endocrinology.
- Dr. A.A.M.M.S.L. Perera, Demonstrators at the Department of Anatomy presented a research study on "ORBITAL DIMENSIONS OF SRI LANKAN ADULTS: A STUDY USING DRY SKULL MEASUREMENTS" at the XI th congress of the SAARC Academy of Ophthalmology 23rd Annual congress of college of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka & Colombo Retina meeting 2014 which was held on 28th September – 01st October 2014 at Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo.
- Dr. W.M.R.D. Wijesundara, Demonstrators at the Department of Anatomy presented a research study on "A STUDY ON ANATOMICAL VARIATIONS IN THE RELATION OF THE OPTIC CHIASMA AND PITUITARY GLAND" at the XI th congress of the SAARC Academy of Ophthalmology 23rd Annual congres of college of Ophthalmologists of Sri Lanka & Colombo Retina meeting 2014 which was held on 28th September – 01st October 2014 at Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo.

- Professor Sujatha Salgado, Professor of Anatomy had a visit to North Dakota State University U.S.A. in August 2014.
- Dr. Rizvi Hasan, Head, Department of Anatomy has been selected as a Committee Member in the Scientific and Technical Committee and Editorial review board on Medicine and Health Sciences of the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology(WASET) .
- Dr. Vasitha Abeysuriya, Lecturer, Department of Anatomy has attended as a main invigilator for MRCS(England Examination) held in College of Surgeons Sri Lanka in September 2014.

- Dr. K.A. Salvin, Senior Lecturer, of Department of Anatomy was functioned as a joint Secretary/SAO Colombo 2014 for XI Annual Congress of SAARC Academic sessions of Ophthalmologist on 28th September 2014- 01st October 2014. He was a co-ordinator of 3 oral presentations and two of which were done at the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Ragama
- Dr. R.M.S.L. Ranaweera, Senior Lecturer, of Department of Anatomy has attended BAMS Level I First Semester end examination 2012/2013 at Gampaha Wickremarachchi Ayurveda Institute, University of Kelaniya.-02.10.2014 and 03.10.2014
- Lectures for Physiotherapy Diploma students was started on 29.09.2014 by Dr. A.A.M.M.S.L. Perera and Dr. W.M.R.D. Wijesundera, Demostraters of the Department of Anatomy
