SPECIALIZED CLINIC FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT

 

CLINIC SERVICE

The Department of Disability Studies offers a specialized clinic for children and adults with hearing impairments. The clinic functions twice a week every Tuesday and Thursday at the Ayati Center. The clinic offers assessments, on-going intervention and management, reviews, follow-up and also necessary Audiological testing, Consultation and counselling for individuals with hearing impairments as well as their families. This particular clinic offers both individual and group therapy with the support of other relevant professionals: Speech Therapists, Educational therapists, occupational therapists and many more. The Audio team of the University of Kelaniya provides necessary hearing aids for identified children who have financial difficulties. The university sign language unit also contributes to overcome various kind of communication difficulties as a part of the intervention program of individuals with hearing difficulties.

 

APPOINTMENTS

Regular clinics are offered on Tuesday from 8.30 qm to 4.00 pm Thuraday 1.00pm to 4.00pm.
