1st World Congress in Ear and Hearing Care (2015)

Four students from Batch 3 following the BSc in Speech and Hearing Sciences, specializing in Audiology, got the opportunity to attend the 1st World Congress in Ear and Hearing Care 2015' in New Delhi, India, from the 12th to the 14th of February 2015. Their final-year undergraduate research projects were chosen for presentation by the congress organizers under the following conference themes and modes of presentation:

Theme I - Noise Induced Hearing Loss

 1. Presenter: K. Piumi Ayeshika Perera

 Title: Occupational noise exposure, awareness, attitudes, use of personal hearing protection devices among Liquefied Petroleum Gas Cylinder Infusion factory workers

 Mode of the presentation: Oral presentation

 2. Presenter: Krisha Hansajie

Title: Knowledge, attitudes and practices on Noise Induced Hearing Loss among factory workers of two dairy product manufacturing factories in Gampaha District, Sri Lanka

Theme II - Miscellaneous

 3. Presenter: L. M. Unagolla

Title: Commonly used Behavioral Hearing Tests among Audiologists and audiometricians in the Western Province, Sri Lanka

Mode of the presentation: Poster presentation

4. Presenter: Dinusha Manathunga

Title: Different severity levels of tinnitus and how it affects the lifestyle of patients who are attending the ENT clinics, national hospital, Colombo
