56At the end of the lecture, the students should

  • know the mode of spread, aetiology and pathogenetic mechanism, pathology and complications of acute osteomyelitis
  • know the pathology and complications of chronic osteomyelitis with a special emphasis on tuberculous osteomyelitis
  • understand the value of multidisciplinary approach in bone tumour diagnosis
  • know the basic classification of bone tumours
  • know the clinical features and pathology of some important bone tumours
  • identify the bone as a site of metastatic tumour deposits
