At the end of this lecture student should be able to:
- Define the terms Atrophy, Hypertrophy, Hyperplasia and Metaplasia.
- List the causes for each of the above giving examples for physiological as well as pathological causes.
- Define the term dysplasia,
- Describe the morphology of dysplasia and its clinical significance.
- Compare and contrast atrophy, hypertrophy, hyperplasia, metaplasia and dysplasia from one another.
