At the end of this lectures student should be able to:

  • List the clinicopathological syndromes produced by different aetiological agents and describe the pathology of each.
  • Define the terms commonly used in liver pathology – Random/ spotty necrosis, Confluent necrosis, Piece meal necrosis (interphase hepatitis), Ballooning degeneration, lobular disarray, steatosis, sinusoidal lymphocytosis.
  • List the causes of abscess formation and its aetiopathogenesis.
