PATHOLOGY MUSEUM
The Pathology Museum is located on the first floor of the A24 building of the Faculty of Medicine. There are nearly 500 specimens displaying human organs affected by various pathologies/diseases. The museum is open from 9 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, for undergraduate and postgraduate students in medicine.
These specimens are arranged according to the various organs of the human body: e.g., heart, brain, female genital organs, thyroid, etc., and each organ system is identified by a specific letter, e.g., Brain - A, Heart B, etc.
The virtual museum displays 422 specimens, and these are arranged according to their organs of origin. The macroscopic features of each specimen are described. Photographs are available for most of the specimens with a zoom facility. Some of these are accompanied by their clinical presentations and are followed by questions that will help you revise and understand the diseases concerned.
22 of these are included as tutorial cases and are further discussed with clinical presentations, macroscopic and relevant microscopic appearances.
You can search the virtual museum using keywords or the identifying number of each specimen. On the other hand, if you are browsing the virtual museum and want to view a physical specimen, you can find it using the identifying number.
