Lecture and slide discussion on benign proliferative breast lesions and papillary lesions of the breast by Dr Anne Saparamadu

Dr Anne Saparamadu is a Senior Consultant Histopathologist with a special interest in Breast, Gynae and Dermatopathology. Currently she work as a Senior Consultant Histopathologist at in the Department of Pathology, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Sultanate of Oman. She joined the Department of Histopathology, Sultan Qaboos University Hospital as a Consultant Pathologist in 2008 and promoted to the post of Senior Consultant in 2013. Before this she worked as a Senior lecturer in Pathology and the Head of the Department of Pathology Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya since 1995. During this period she trained several Diploma in Pathology and MD Histopathology trainees assigned by the Post Graduate Institute of Sri Lanka. She had been an examiner for the Diploma in pathology, MD Histopathology and MD Chemical Pathology, MS General Surgery, MS Dental surgery, and MD Ophthalmology.

The teaching session on benign proliferative breast lesions and papillary lesions of the breast was attended by 21 post graduate trainees and several Histopathologists. The session was started with a presentation on benign proliferative breast lesions which included the different causes and the important morphological features in each of these. This was followed by a lecture on papillary lesions of the breast which emphasized the morphological and immunohistochemical features that helped in differential diagnosis. The second part of the session included discussion of 14 cases of breast lesions.
