Research Management Committee of the Faculty of Medicine successfully organised a research forum event by the theme of “Research Forum: Refining Your Research Proposal”
The event was held on Thursday, 12th December 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Faculty Board Room.
The session included three presentations:
- B. M. P. I. Basnayake presented on "Multisystem Health Assessment via Heart Rate Variability: A Longitudinal Interventional Study in Sri Lankan Adults with Lifestyle Modifications"
- Sandeep Avinash Jayasekera delivered a presentation on "Psychological Profile, Motivations, and Surgical Outcomes of Altruistic Buddhist Monks versus Related Living Liver Donors: A Mixed-Methods Comparative Study at a Liver Care Facility"
- Sameera Wijayawardhana concluded the forum with a presentation on "Geospatial Analysis of Epilepsy: Mapping Prevalence, Risk Factors, and Healthcare Accessibility in Sri Lanka".
Expert review was done by a panel of eminent senior researchers in the Faculty of Medicine including Prof. Rohan Siriwardana, Prof. Anuja Premawardena, Prof. Anuradhani Kasthurirathne, Prof. Shamila De Silva, Prof. Sachith Mettananda, Prof. Deepthi De Silva and Prof. Niranga Devanarayana.
The forum provided an engaging platform for discussing research proposals and refining study methodologies. All participants were warmly welcomed, and refreshments were provided at the venue.
