An interactive hands-on skills training Workshop on Stroke care and Rehabilitation was conducted at the District General Hospital, Moneragala. This was a collaborative effort between the Ragama Stroke Unit and the National Stroke Association of Sri Lanka.

 

There were 130 participants and 21 resource persons. Health staff from the following hospitals participated at the workshop: Moneragala, Badulla, Wellawaya, Bibile, Buttala, Higurukaduwa, Ethimale, Siyambalanduwa, Dambagalla, Handapanagala, Hambegamuwa. Participants rotated between the training stations of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing care, bladder care and mental health support.

 

The workshop was conducted by the Stroke Team of the Ragama Stroke Unit, and they were supported by resource persons from District General Hospital, Moneragala and Provincial General Hospital, Badulla.
