A workshop to meld the literary taste of Sri Lankan children’s literature writers with a psychological perspective was conducted by the Medical Faculty of the University of Kelaniya on the 30th of July,2024 at the medical faculty premises to enhance the depleted sum and substance of Sri Lankan Children’s Literature. The organization of the event was a collaborated outcome of the Ministry of Budhdhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs and the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. The scientific understanding of psychology about the activation of the child mind is obligatory when writing literary works for children to read. Awareness on this knowledge encapsulated the essence of this workshop. To nourish the psychological perceptions of Children’s Literature, writers opt for a broader scope of literary texts for children.

Furthermore, it is quintessential that this righteous attempt is an inauguration to enhance the child mind with new Psycho- ethical concepts which acts as a morale booster to create a better society. Such a collaboration of the Medical Faculty along with state representation to proliferate standard literary writing should be a worthy cause to acknowledge since it qualifies as a gateway for new amplitudes of arts in Sri Lanka.

The workshop was a tri-dimensional combination on how the child psyche assumes, what the child psyche prefers, and reading for personality development.
