CRYPTOSPORIDIUM PARVUM, TRICHOMONAS VAGINALIS, CESTODES

Cryptosporidium spp.

1. Recognize Cryptosporidium oocysts in a stained fecal smear.

Trichomonas vaginalis

1. Identify T. vaginalis trophozoites in a smear stained with Giemsa or Leishman's stain.

Adult Cestodes

1. Recognize the scolices, strobila and stained gravid proglotttides of Taenia spp.
2. Identify the taeniid egg and the ova of H. nana and H. diminuta in a stool smear.
3. Identify the adult E. granulosus using a simple microscope.

Larval cestodes

1. Recognise a hydatid cyst and a cysticercus with the naked eye or in a stained section
