The Department of Parasitology offers Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) by research in the fields of Medical Parasitology, Medical Entomology, Tropical Medicine, Molecular Entomology or any other discipline as may be accepted by the Board of study of Medicine, University of Kelaniya. It also offers the Doctor of Medicine (DM) degree by research under the Board of study of Medical sciences, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Kelaniya. 

The Department of Parasitology is a recognized training and examination centre by the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine (PGIM), University of Colombo for following postgraduate training programmes:
