Outbound Training Programme - 2024
Department of Parasitology conducted its third outbound training on 3rd September 2024 at the Sense Pavillion Hotel, Horana. The Department organizes this annual event for all academic, non-academic, academic supportive, and research staff.
This is one of the events in the Department's strategic plan. The main objective of this training programme is to improve teamwork by fostering collaboration and sharing research experience and findings. This also provides a flat form for all staff to be involved in developing the cooperate plan and activities in the Department in the coming year and plan research activities in alignment with the Department's annual plan. This year's theme for the Department Outbound Training was to “Expand the technical capacity to diagnose parasitic infections through molecular-based approaches”.
The training session started with the Department meeting for September 2024, followed by a research progress presentation by the researchers. The second session of the event comprised the formulation of the Department cooperate plan for the year 2025, exploring research grant opportunities, and setting an operational plan to attract more grants to achieve the objectives of this year's theme.
