Disaster Victim Identification Workshop

Two-day workshop on Disaster Victim Identification for trainees of Higher Diploma in Crime Investigation was held on 6th and 7th of February 2019 at the Faculty of Medicine and National Police Academy (NPA) Katana organized by the Department of Forensic Medicine and the NPA. The Resource persons were Dr. Ajith Tennakoon, Consultant JMO, IMFT, Colombo Dr. Uthpala Attygalla, Consultant JMO, Base Hospital Panaduara and Dr. Jayani Weerathna, Forensic Odonatologist, IFMT, Colombo . The field training by creating a mock disaster was conducted on 7th February at the NPA, Katana were an exercise on recovery of dead was done using National Guidelines. MD trainees of Forensic Medicine also participated the field training.
