With the guidance of the Head of the department and with the support of all the department staff members, volunteered other faculty staff members and students, we were able to conduct a very successful health camp on Sunday the 25th of November 2018.

Health education regarding non-communicable disease prevention, childhood nutrition and how to identify medical emergencies were done by Prof. Janaka Ramanayaka, Dr. Aruni De Silva and Dr. Dinusha Perera.

The support we received from the principal, staff members of the Maningamuwa Siriwardana primary school, parents, youth club in the area and government officials such as Grama Sewa Niladhari should be appreciated to make this event a successful and memorable one.

Department would like to thank all the volunteers who supported and the pharmaceutical agents who provided medical supplies to be distributed for the people in-need for free.

Special thank goes to the participants from the HelpAge eye screening mobile unit for their support.

Also special thanks goes to Nawaloka hospital Negambo for their participation in the medical laboratory which provided blood glucose monitoring for the participants of the health camp.

We are planning to do a follow-up health camp within 3 months.
