Hands-On Experience Workshop on Cadaveric Ultrasound-Guided Botulinum Toxin Injection
A Hands-On Experience Workshop on Cadaveric Ultrasound-Guided Botulinum Toxin Injection was successfully conducted by the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, in collaboration with the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital (RRH), Ragama, on 12 December 2025 at the Dissection Laboratory of the Department of Anatomy. The workshop was designed to provide practical cadaveric training in ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injection techniques for the management of spasticity, with a strong emphasis on safety, anatomical accuracy, and clinical applicability. The resource persons for the workshop were Dr. Chamara Jayatunga, Consultant Rehabilitation Medicine at RRH, Ragama, and Dr. Shirom Siriwardana, Consultant Radiologist from the Department of Anatomy. In addition to medical officers from RRH, faculty participants from the University of Kelaniya also took part in the programme and gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience, further strengthening interdisciplinary learning and professional development.
