The ‘Green Society’ of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya is on a mission to make the faculty greener and to preserve the environment for the future generation. Therefore as a part of this project several fruit and flower bearing plants such as Mango, variety of Guava, Rose Apple, Olives, Ehela, Anoda, Ashoka, Margosa  Ambarella, Ixora, and Bottle Palms were planted on the 10th of November 2016 at the faculty premises. This day was also considered a special day in the faculty calendar as it marked the arrival of the new batch who joined us in our mission. The project is a small step taken to reduce the carbon foot print. Students are encouraged to take this endeavor as a personal responsibility and to see that these plants are watered and attended to on a daily basis.
