FACILITIES & SERVICES

Department has two Laboratories, routine and student. Student Laboratory which can accommodate 40-50 students, is used to teach both undergraduate and postgraduates. Laboratory investigations on request or for researches are carried out in routine laboratory.  The Department of Parasitology of has the laboratory rearing facilities for leishmania vectors and other medically important mosquito vectors.

Insectary facility

Department of Parasitology established the laboratory rearing facilities for leishmania vectors and other medically important mosquitoes from an external grant received from the National Research Council (NRC) of Sri Lanka (Grant No. 16-142)

 

Biomedical Instrument Repair Unit

Biomedical Instrument Repair Unit was started under the Department of Parasitology in 2014. It currently functions as an active unit in repairing biomedical instruments receive from different departments of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya and it is expecting to expand the service to other institutions in the country.
